About
Made to be lived on, not looked at.
Most rugs are sold on the assumption that nothing will ever happen to them. Then a glass goes over, or a dog comes in wet, or a toddler discovers pasta sauce, and you find out your options are a professional cleaner or a replacement.
Everything we sell goes in a washing machine. That's the whole idea. Not stain-resistant, not spot-clean-only, not "wipes clean with a damp cloth" — actually machine washable, at home, as many times as you need.
We're named after ironbark, a eucalyptus dense enough that it sinks in water. The name is about things built to take use rather than be protected from it, which is the only kind of home textile we're interested in.
How we work
- Real dimensions on everything. Rugs are bought to fit a room, and the most common furnishing mistake is buying one that's too small. Every size is listed in feet and inches, and there's sizing guidance on each page — we'd rather talk you into the right size than process a return.
- We tell you what it can't do. If something needs a cold wash, or won't fit a compact machine, or isn't suitable for a high-traffic hallway, that's on the product page. You'll see us list a limitation before you'll see us hide one.
- No claims we can't back. Materials, care instructions and country of origin come straight from the manufacturer. If we don't have documentation for something, we leave it off rather than guess.
- Small on purpose. You get a person when you email, not a ticket number.
Before you buy
Email hello@shopironbarkhome.com. Room measurements, whether a rug will fit under your dining chairs when they're pulled out, whether it'll survive the hallway. It takes two minutes and it saves you a return.
